EMILIE & GUILLAUME.
This adopted Savoyard duo lives in Chambéry, but hop in their van as soon as they get the chance. They love spending time in the mountains, roaming all over the Alps, mostly up and down: climbing, mountaineering, ski touring, trail running …
From their history and their climbing experiences inspired, they founded “The Dirtbags ”, a publishing house specializing in unique guidebooks, customizable mountain journals, and books about adventures in the vertical world. They even created a version for kids with My First Mountain Notebook, written for families to discover the joys of hiking!
Emilie is a digital communications consultant and Guillaume is a soldier in France’s elite “Chasseurs Alpins” mountain division. She writes and he takes pictures. She manages the website, and he takes care of their van. She makes homemade cereal bars, he takes the sharp end of the rope on committing lines …
FYI, the Dirtbags are a community of “hippie” climbers from the 60s that we could find in Yosemite or in Squamish in British Columbia… hehe 🤔😬 from the roots of climbing back to our backpacks! The Squamish backpack for Guillaume, and the Mini-Squamish for Emilie.
WHY WE CHOSE THEM.
Because being called The Dirtbags is so cool. Because they like to play the Ukulele under a full moon. Because we wanted Squamish backpacks to get back to their roots. Because we love their take on a mountain journal.
